CSM - South Table Mtn. mid-week series starts May 20
Tuesdays at 7pm is Cat 1/2/3, and Thursdays is 30+. The old Wheels of Thunder course on top of South Table Mtn. Show up, if for no other reason, just to see Carlos turn himself inside out to try to win back his $15 entry fee...

I will be there Thursday nights too. Props for Jafar from coming out last night, representing the 3's, and helping the other 4 teammates in the race.

So, what's the story on the 30+? The start time works out better, but I'd rather leave work a bit early and race with the 4's if I'm going to be "turned inside out" trying to hang with the open class. Really fast, kinda fast or walk in the park?

Depends on who shows up. It will good for you no matter who shows up. Jafar can tell you how the open class went... As for the 30+ on Thursday, last year the numbers were less than 20, with all levels, so several pockets were formed, specially on windy days, and the pace was definitely slower than Tuesday's. I don't know what to expect this Thursday though. I will be there to find out.

thanks Los, looking forward to next time. Props should go to you for finishing on the podium! Eric - the pace was pretty fast and much more sustained then other races i've done lately. you'd totally be fine, plus it will get you ready for when you upgrade next month or sooner.

Race was fun last night. Eric showed up and enjoyed. We could use more people next week. Pace is definitely slower than Tuesday.

Slower than Tuesday? I'll stick with Thursday, thank you very much. My recap for those who haven't been: OK, here's the start. Hey, I know these guys from Meridian and MOB. They're all 2's aren't they? Crap. Here we go. This isn't so bad. I'm feeling pretty good. Lap 2. Still hanging. Wait, what's with the bell? Uh-oh. Where's everybody going all the sudden. Crap. OK, that sucked but I'm back on. What's with the bell again? Crap. Hey look, I'm all by myself. OK, here come some guys up behind me, I'll hang with them and we'll work our way back up. Oh, it's gonna be like that, huh? OK, I'll see if I can bridge on my own. Crap, it's windy. OK, I'm starting to pick riders off as they drop off the pack, exhausted from the never ending sprint laps. Still by myself. Here comes another couple riders behind me, maybe I'll ride with them even though there's only one lap left. Oh, it's Carlos and another guy about to lap me. Great. Finished somewhere near mid-field, I think. Still fun though. This WILL make me faster. Any other (older) 4's should think about coming out to round out the field with me. I'd like to not be the only 4 out there. C'mon, it's a nice, easy ride!

I'm no Cat IV but I am old, I'm hoping to make it out on Thursday for the 30+ race.
