Non-evans ride?
Anyone not racing Evans interested in a ride Saturday?

los- 07-16-2008

I am riding to the lake to see the riders come through. Due to timing conflict, leaving from Bergen Park rather than from my house.

supergo- 07-16-2008

'Los--you at Echo Lake always gives me a reason to fake attack right before the ranger shack.

greggrosenthal- 07-16-2008

Los...details por favor?

While I have definitely been guilty of it this season, YA'LL ARE A BUNCH OF PANZY BITCHES! I guess we're already the Haul'n Ass Cycling Klub. No racing here, you know, we just like to ride for fun, we ride for about an hour and then stop for breakfast, besides I'm a sprinter not a climber so I only do very flat short races. Well guess what jerky, I'm not a climber and you're not a sprinter, we're amateur racers that should race anything and everything. This is the fucking Haul'n Ass Race Team not the Haul'n Ass let's watch the race club. Think about this the next group ride you turn the screws on the big climb or win the stop ahead sign sprint or go play on the mesa top. That ain't racing folks, that's practice for the real events. Why don't ya'll hook up with your friends at the dbtc.org. Carlos you're excused from this rant, you actually race too much. And as penance for this rant, I'm signing up for Bannock! you people make me sick... it is the Haul'n Ass Talk Team....

ZING! Yeah, get 'em Doug (unless this is one of those antisemitic rants since Jordan and Rosenthal are the only two non-Los posters here)! I never really understood the "I'm a specialist of some sort or another" mentality in amateur cycling . . . uh, you're an amateur, you pretty much suck at all of it. There's usually somebody who is going to shame you results wise.

kilgore- 07-16-2008

I don't care what color they are. And I'm pretty sure Jordo is racing.

supergo- 07-16-2008

if you ask me, the Jew card could excuse you from all racing--anyone know the most famous jewish racer?

Would want to be at the Echo Lake around 8:30-8:40. I believe the first wave (Tom Danielson, that is) will be swinging by around 8:50, I would imagine. If that is not the case, someone plase correct me. That means leaving the Bergen Park Lot by 6:45 then. I think it takes about 1:40 to climb, I am not sure... anyone?. Anyway, whatever long it takes, plus a 10 minute cushion... that is when I plan on rolling out of the Park-n-Ride if anyone wants to join. I usually ride from the house, but with the party, I have to come back sooner.

kilgore- 07-16-2008

danielson will not be there despite signing up for it

greggrosenthal- 07-16-2008

Doug- If you love racing so much, why don't you marry it? Well guess what jerky, I'm not a climber and you're not a sprinter, we're amateur racers that should race anything and everything. When did I ever claim to be a sprinter? That's hysterical!

kilgore- 07-16-2008

Gregg don't take my rant personally, I was addressing all the panzy bitches on the Haul'n Ass touring club. Well, I guess you can take it personally but it wasn't specific to you, for the purpose of this rant you fall into the category of "you people". I hope everybody shows up at the party to talk about racing, seems to be what we're best at.

summerteeth- 07-16-2008

Hmmm. I guess I'm off the team then. I have absolutely no desire to race and the idea of a group ride makes me want to puke. What are you going to do about it? blah blah blah race blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah bikes blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah bike blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah race blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah That shit bores me to death. When the fuck you going to find something else to talk about? Hugs my bitches, Summerteeth

I'm going to be going up Mt Evans in the race.... in a car. Someone has to put on the race, someone has to run the touring club, and someone has to volunteer for other events now and then. It's all part of racing, everyone can't turn the pedals al the time. I have not even HAD a season. I did my first road ride climb in JUNE with a whopping 100 miles under my belt (which I can barely see under my gut) You guys that have trained should be out racing. I can understand the "I'm not a climber" thing, but "I'm not a sprinter" is crazy in local cycling. If you enter a flat crit and you are a "climber" then you should be riding on one of the attach teams, or the leadout team, or protecting someone the whole race, you can still be useful in this team sport. If you are a "sprinter" (aka, not a good climber) and you enter Evans, it is a waste of money as you watch the leaders go up the road. You cannot protect anyone, give anyone a wheel, or do anything from the back. Riding in the grupetto off the back of a one day hillclimb race is pointless. My $0.02 P.S. And yes I will be at the BBQ. Maybe I'll talk about the triple bypass or elephant rock, neither of which I could do right now.

kilgore- 07-17-2008

My rant continued with a skewering of these people that don't volunteer either and how it's always the same people that volunteer but I deleted it because I was starting to sound preachy. So thank you for being dependable and doing what you can for the sport, you sir, a real citizen of the Nation. We have 50 people on this team and about 15 that race. If you don't race then you should volunteer. We would have 60 guys on the team but every year people voluntarily move to other teams cause they know they're not going to be able to race much. I hold those HART alums in very high regard, out on to the ice flow. I can tell there's going to be quite the culling this December.
