Amen Doug! I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon here and say why is it that we had like 25 people show up at the first cat 4 meeting, but, with one exception, I haven't seen more than 6 or 7 cat 4's at any race this season and we're lucky if there are 2 racers at any hill climb. Guess who the specialty climbers are on the cat 4's? There ain't any. We're cat 4's. I can get up a hill OK (and I'm bummed that I have to miss Mt. Evans, but I know Aaron will represent), but I also race almost every freakin' crit on the schedule and I have yet to figure out why any cat 4 wouldn't do the same and race every race they can.
My $.02, for what it's worth.

I have a feeling Doug and Greg had a a lot of sarcasm and 'being Doug' in his e-mail, with the usual provoking, offending, attacking, but with humor and a somewhat jokenly fashion, even though Doug is likely going to respond saying he was serious... He is never serious, he has tried to kick people off the team for the last 33 months, and has failed time and time again.
... now, Eric, this topic you brought up, unless I am mistaken, should not be addressed on the general forum where sponsors, the riders themselves, and your competitors can read. It should be addressed with your team captain, and your fellow Cat 4 riders directly, not publicly, or at the team party Saturday. I can build a ring in the backyard, as it will then be time for 'climbers' to get beaten by the 'sprinters/non-climbers'.
... Regardless, let's all drink to Doug persistency in trying to kick people of the team, retire, race again, then retire, at the team Party Saturday.

I don't have a problem with publicly stating that this team is made up of 25% hard core bike racers that show up, throw down, and give it what they got, 10% guys that can't race as much but do their part and volunteer and help the team and the sport out and 65% panzies that talk a lot about riding and racing. Serious? Yes, I am serious. I always try to deliver these messages along with some humor so that it's more palatable to those on the receiving end, but the message is there. Often when I "discuss" these types of things with individuals, after they stop weeping, call my approach tough love. This always bothers me because I often feel as though I'm being extraordinarily nice.
There's a lot of good racing left, prove me wrong panzies.

Don't misread the intent of my post. Nobody brings it like the HART crew. Nobody shows up at the big races like we do and nobody provides the sponsors with the high-quality exposure we do (state crit champs x 2, baby!). My comments are meant to remind the cat 4's specifically that there are more than just crit's on the calander so let's get out there and give the folks (and sponsors) what they want.

Yeah, what ET said. That's the thing. We have all these guys and it's the same guys that show up to race week in and week out. These guys look around and wonder where their team mates are. My understanding is that riders come to HART for the great looking kits and to ride as a team with a team. Everybody is really good at racing in April and May but forget that the season goes until September.

Well put everyone. I have never seen everyone come to terms so quickly. wow!!
And for some the racing starts in September.
And for all that I will have a shot of lemonade on Saturday.

Lemme tell you what I think about lemonade...

Eric,
Can you post your email so I can talk to you about those jerseys? Thanks.
BTW, Doug kicked me off the team.... watch your step.
kilgore- 07-17-2008
careful shanley, I'll kick you off the team you're on now too.

The first year. 10 guys, 6-8 at almost every race. You guys are pussys. I will not be racing tomorrow but if I was on HART I probably would. PUSSYS.
See you at the party.

and Seth is the mopst famous Jewish racer.
Yeah watch out Tom.
Final plan for tomorrow, in case you care to join.
A few of us are leaving the Bergen park-n-ride at 6:45, for a nice ride up squaw, to get to echo with plenty of time to see Doug lead the pack.
If you can make it, great, if not, I will see you at the party.

Who all is going? Anyone from downtown I might be able to hitch a ride with? Gas money!

This is all I could come up with for jews and bikes.
In 1936 an elderly Jew was walking down a lonely street in Berlin. Suddenly he was accosted by three burly Nazi ruffians, who taunted him. One demanded angrily: "Isn't it true, old man, that the Jews are the cause of all the problems we now have in Germany?"
The old man, no fool, replied, "Actually, it's the Jews and the bicycle riders."
The irate hooligan looked puzzled and asked "Why the bicycle riders?"
The old man replied: "Why the Jews?"
