Salida injury list?
Anyone know the condition of Brian Huggins? Last I heard he was seen limping over to the med tent. A big crash in turn 2 after the rain tempest had the cat 3"s racing in 2" deep water. Lucky for me I did a lot of work early to bring back break # 1 and the legs ran out of gas. Or could it have been the first drop of rain to hit my glasses? Thats when I pulled. Positive note..The new cat 3"s did a great job of getting me back up to mid pack with 20 min to race. Guess I will never scoff at huggins for taking a GU right before the start. I did get a lot of great pics of EVERYONE this weekend. Doug I can put them on a CD and give them to you this week.

I heard huggy was skinned up pretty bad but otherwise, nothing broken. Skinned to the bone is what I heard, I just don't like repeating it or thinking about it. A cd for pictures works. VIDEO is what I'm hoping for. Can everybody try and get some video at Golden on Tuesday, fed Center and Bannock.

Brian - Get well, get well soon, we want you to get well.

Salida Crit report: The race was going good for me Lined out much of the race, which seemed to shed much of the field. Nice and fast which usually helps me. I moved up to around 5th to 8th place with 5 to go. I decided to follow the wheel of the CSU guy since he looked very strong. Big mistake- he went down in turn 2 and I had no where to go but down I tried to avoid hitting him. Got road rash on my calf, thigh, butt, back, lats, forearm, triceps and worst of all the elbow. The blood was flowing pretty good because I could hardly read my watch as in was covered in blood. I tried to get back in the race but they wouldn't let me. The bike looks OK which is great! I went to the EMT and he indicated he could see the bone and that I might want to go to the ER. Oh joy 3 hours later I leave the ER with stiches, a tube inserted into the elbow and vicodine. Manno- I can send pics but I'm not sure the best music to use. A total bummer since I was feeling strong and really thought a win was possible. Feeling rough today - more sore from where the guy/guys piled on top of me after I went down. Hopefully, I can get the tube removed this week and be ready for the races this weekend. I think the Vicodine is kicking in as I'm starting babble. BH

Huggy the Tube is a drain so fluid will no accumulate in the wound and hinder healing. So fellas that means it was DEEP! I got plenty of lidocaine for you this weekend you wont even know you went down.

So, what time was it when you wiped the blood out of your watch? Fast Healing, Champ. Funny, I just saw 'Resurrecting the Champ' yesterday. At least you remember who you are.

Damn Huggins, that sucks. Sounds like what happened to me at Niwot but about 5 times worse. I hope it heals quickly. As for anyone who has pictures of racing, feel free to send them to me and I will put them on the website. email them to cgridley@gmail.com or haulnassracing@gmail.com Cameron

Huggy Bear, I can bring my dog by and you guys can heal up together. He's got stitches and a tube sticking out of his back.
