Shitmano, Scram and Campy I've been a loyal campy rider for years but decided to try something new this year and went to Red. Generally I'm pretty happy with the double tap shifting. One compliant though would be having the first direction the der moves is down the cassette. So if you're not real positive on the shift it can be a little sloppy. This isn't a big deal until you're riding in the red up a hill and you're about ready to pop because everybody else just decided to take it above LT. Then a miss shift can cost you. So I think my ideal set up would be campy shifters, they fit my hands better, and sram drive train, cause it's all compatible with shimano wheels and it's as light if not lighter than campy and generally cheaper. So what do you know. It's possible. According to Zinn you can use campy shifters with shimano and sram everything else with no problem. Rock on! I have some work to do.
This is what you do on a beautiful day in June when everybody is riding or racing and you have gut rot.
